Short idk thing have fun

"You're a bit of a sack of shit."

Ardus whipped his head around, staring at the direction the words came from, momentarily distracted from his scanning of his books.

"Everything has to be about you, doesn't it? You turned your dragon into a...whatever, and all your worry is on how you failed, not how you'll fix it. Self absorbed shithead."

Ardus stood quickly, murmuring a spell to bring light to his hands. "Who the hell are you? Show yourself." All he got in return was hissing laughter.

"Mm...no, I think not. You're not ready for it." The voice paused a moment before flowing around him, enveloping him in a haze of velvet and whispers. "But I will leave you with a parting gift...something to remind you me." A sharp pain erupted from his shoulder and the elf flinched away with a hiss. He heard his robes tear and felt burning blood well up and roll down his back as he whipped around, eyes searching.

"Farewell little elf," the voice bade, fading into nothing. "I'll see you soon."

Testing this Thing out

So far so good, I dunno about all this and have no idea how to use this but how bout a drabble that is probably actually gonna become something that I use for a project/oc character that needed his backstory worked on?

Ardus stared hard at the book resting in his hand, frowning deeply before he looked back at his friend with a grimace. "I...am so sorry, I never meant to turn you into...um...I'm not sure what I turned you into. A fish-monster?" The elf gave a weak smile to the glaring pile of slime, tentacles, and scales. "More like an octopus or squid but...oh well..." He tossed the book aside as his companion gave a gurgle of complaint. Or at least he assumed it was complaint.

"Yeah yeah I know," he hummed as he drew on the floor again. "I just gotta reverse it, shouldn't be too difficult." Ardus sat back with a sigh, studying the circles and markings with a critical eye. "Alright, move to the middle...try not to slime it up to bad." He laughed as the creature slithered forward, smacking his hand with a rough tentacle. Once his friend was situated and the circle touched up he began his incantation, closing his eyes. One could mistake it for concentration, but in reality the light that shone bright when he cast spells hurt his eyes.

As the lights crackled and dimmed again he listened hard, biting his lip. "Kyrizal...? You all good now?"

"Um....I'm much more....humanoid now," came the timid reply and Ardus opened his eyes, eyebrows raising in concern.

"Oh dear..." He studied the once full dragon with a worried hum. "I'm sorry..."

Instead of the scaly lizard that had laid across the floor before, there was a very scaly boy needing clothes and teetering on awkward toes as his wings spread to grip on nearby bookshelves.

"I think we're gonna need help Ardus."

The elf could only nod in response, cheeks going pink at explaining another failed experiment to the headmaster. They were really running out of willing dragons.
